ELB Hangin at The Corner Diner with Carey

28 10 2010

It was a crazy day, the winds blew Eric Lee Beddingfield into the Corner Diner Studio at WTCM where Eric was talking about his new single The Gospel According to Jones (George that is) and other cuts from his new album This Life Ain’t For Everybody. Since ELB is a Georgia Boy, he helped Carey turn the Diner into a Northern Michigan Hurricane Party… After the show, Carey showed ELB around town, note Eric’s album cover… Carey figured Nolans Cigar shop would be a great stop.

An Exceptional Week End

25 10 2010

Those of you who know me, know that I have been a Neil Young fan for forever and a day.  I lived out a little dream this past week end, when I met up with a dear friend in San Francisco to see the annual Bridge School Benefit Concert (organized by Neil Young, and always including a performance by Neil).  It far surpassed my already-high expectations…so, so good!

Why am I telling you this?  Well, partly because I think you’d like to know, but also to encourage you to make your bucket list and start doing the things you’ve always wanted to.   Life is short.   Live it up!

We had a good chance of crowning a new Undefeated Song Wars Champ Friday night,  but it looks like we’ll have to wait a while.  Our Champions, Joey & Rory (“This Song’s For You”), were defending their Crown for the fifth and final night, but they were beat by the Challenger, D.J. Miller (“A Snowman In Birmingham”).  D.J. Miller is now our Champ and he’ll face a new challenger Monday night on Song Wars.

A duck walks into a bar…….

22 10 2010

What a crazy fun day on the air today! It was nuts, with our salute to the “bar” joke. Great callers and lots of laughs. Below is posted some of the fun. Also I’ve included the interview about the Ghost Ship. And on the serious side my reading of a letter written by a US Marine retired, remembering a very important date in our history. Enjoy…see you monday!

Who walked into a bar?
