ELB Hangin at The Corner Diner with Carey

28 10 2010

It was a crazy day, the winds blew Eric Lee Beddingfield into the Corner Diner Studio at WTCM where Eric was talking about his new single The Gospel According to Jones (George that is) and other cuts from his new album This Life Ain’t For Everybody. Since ELB is a Georgia Boy, he helped Carey turn the Diner into a Northern Michigan Hurricane Party… After the show, Carey showed ELB around town, note Eric’s album cover… Carey figured Nolans Cigar shop would be a great stop.

Honoring Sgt. Jason Calo in Mancelona

1 09 2010

Friday 8/27/2010, The start of High School Football at Elk Rapids, the crowd and teams honored fallen son Sgt. Jason Calo, a 2005 graduate and football team member of the Mancelon Ironmen. In a raffle held during the game over $1000.00 was raised for the family.

It has sure seemed like Northern Michigan has been hit hard with a string of losses in Afghanistan. But when we look around at the honor and respect, not to mention the outpouring of love and support shown by friends family and complete strangers it is a reminder of why we all cherish the heart of where we live. This video is a tribute to a son, husband, father and friend. Rest In Peace Marine Sgt. Calo.

Honoring the fallen…

26 07 2010

He was 22 years old, all Marines proudly serve, all give some and some gave it all. The body of Marine Corporal Paul Miller is scheduled to be returned to Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City at noon Tuesday, July 27. The Marine was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan July 19th. As he makes his final homecoming, we can all honor him along the route expected to be taken to the Reynolds-Jonkoff Funeral Home in T.C. Corporal Miller will leave the airport and travel Airport access Rd to Parsons, then on to Garfield, then over to 8th St. to Union and finally to Sixth St. to the funeral home. Be listening to WTCM for updates and further information. Saluting those who have served, and honoring those who have give all.

Justin Moore visits Marion Fair

27 06 2010

Hey, Carey here, I wanted to get these shots up from The Marion Fair.  We had a great night in our own Small Town USA! Justin Moore rocked the stage with his great band, he has had an incredible year of success with his music and become a father, that’s a pretty full 365.  Our friends the Bronk Brothers love coming up to do the fair each year, they have made a bunch of new friends and fans.   By the way The Bronk Brothers will be in the north again Friday Aug. 6 at the Amvets beer tent as part of Harbor Days in Elk Rapids, as we get closer to that event you will hear and see more about it here and on WTCM.  I  just wanted to share a couple of photos and a short piece of video, if you were at the show, we were filming you from the stage ( Thanks to Kara Dienke  for shooting a bit of video from the bands perspective)  Marion… you were looking good!
